WSL2 is coming with an actual Linux kernel.
- WSL2 uses a lightweight virtualization layer to run a recent Linux kernel maintained by Microsoft.
- WSL2 offers massive speed and application compatibility solutions, including native Docker.
- Pengwin will be ready for WSL2 on day one.
- WSL2 will ship in Windows Insider builds as early as June.
Windows Terminal is the new open-source terminal for WSL, PowerShell, and Command Line. It even got it’s own promo video below featuring, among the distros, Pengwin.
